Muvwana Primary School is located in the hot, and dry Mwala area of Machakos county. The school was in dire need of a facelift. Its pupils used to eat under a tree. Moreover, it had no electrical power. Kenya Power invested Kshs5.5 million through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program to renovate the school. The renovations included electrification of the entire school, renovation of the entire block that accommodates class 1-7 including The Headmaster’s office and staffroom, construction of two new classrooms, toilets, a kitchen, and an eating area for the pupils. The renovations have improved the learning experience of the 162 pupils currently enrolled in the school. Kenya Power is happy to change the lives of our future leaders.
