National electricity distributor, Kenya Power, today signed 11 agreements with contractors to pave way for full implementation of the Last Mile Connectivity Project in January 2015.

Kenya Power’s pre-tax profits for the financial year July 2014 to June 2015 rose to Shs.12.254 billion shillings from Shs.11.016 billion recorded during the previous fiscal period.

As part of its strategy to take its services closer to its customers, Kenya Power has opened a
new office in Elgeyo Marakwet County. The newly launched Iten office has been curved from
the larger North Rift region to facilitate the delivery of services to the utility’s customers in Iten
and surrounding areas. The new facilities will bring Kenya Power’s services closer to its 12,000
customers in the county.
