Coast generation system causes major outage

A generation system breakdown emanating from the Coast Region has caused a major power blackout affecting many parts of Nairobi, Mount Kenya and Coast Regions.
The fault has caused system disturbance triggering a power outage affecting most parts of the country except North Rift and West Kenya (Kisumu, Eldoret and Kitale).
The Company’s engineers are working to restore normal supplies in the shortest time possible.
Kenya Power regrets the inconvenience to customers and assures them that everything possible is being done to normalize the situation.
