Shs.400 million to boost electricity supply in Machakos County

The quality of power supply to the residents of Machakos County is set to greatly improve following a massive exercise by national electricity distributor Kenya Power to rehabilitate the power equipment and network serving the area at a cost of Shs.400 million.

Kenya Power Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ben CHUMO, together with the Regional Director of AFD Nairobi Office, Mr. Yves BOUDOT, in the presence of the French Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Mr. Rémi MARECHAUX, have today signed a financing agreement for the provision by AFD of a 56 M€ loan to Kenya Power.

KPLC awards contracts for implementation of the Last Mile Project

National electricity distributor, Kenya Power, today signed 11 agreements with contractors to pave way for full implementation of the Last Mile Connectivity Project in January 2015.

Kenya Power launches new office and uprates power supply in Elgeyo Marakwet County

As part of its strategy to take its services closer to its customers, Kenya Power has opened a
new office in Elgeyo Marakwet County. The newly launched Iten office has been curved from
the larger North Rift region to facilitate the delivery of services to the utility’s customers in Iten
and surrounding areas. The new facilities will bring Kenya Power’s services closer to its 12,000
customers in the county.

Fault causes power interruption in Nairobi

A technical fault on a high voltage line that supplies bulk electricity from Juja Road substation to Muthurwa substation and Nairobi CBD Jevanjee substation has this evening caused a power interruption affecting Nairobi City residents.
South Nyanza Region launched

Kenya Power has reaffirmed its commitment to making its services more accessible to its customers in Western Kenya through the creation of a new region. South Nyanza Region will be headquartered in Kisii town and will have jurisdiction over four counties namely Kisii, Nyamira, Migori, and Homa Bay.
